Paul Hiebert’s Missiology and Beyond
Opportunity to win Hiebert Scholarship Awards totaling $
The Hiebert Global Center at TEDS is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for master’s and doctoral students to present at the Hiebert Track at the 2015 EMS North Central Region missiology conference, which will be held on the 25th of April, 2015 at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.
The aim of the Hiebert Track is to engage with various aspects of Paul Hiebert’s missiology (self-theologizing, contextualization, excluded middle, epistemology, missional theology, cultural hermeneutics etc) in order to bring his ideas to bear upon contemporary issues in global Christianity, as well as to build upon Hiebert’s ideas to contribute to the further development of the future of intercultural ministries.
Students should submit a 200-300 word proposal by December 10, 2014. (11:59 pm – Central time zone, Chicago)
1. Selected proposals will be noticed by December 12, 2014.
2. Those whose proposals are accepted will need to submit the full-length paper by (and no later than) Feb 10, 2015.
3. Five papers will be chosen for the Hiebert Scholarship award (Further instructions will be provided on acceptance).
Each paper will be reviewed by three judges.
1st Place – $2,000 (1 award), 2nd Place – $1,000 (2 awards), 3rd Place – $ 500 (2 awards)
Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to present their papers at the 2015 annual EMS North Central Region missiology conference held at TEDS, Deerfield, Illinois on April 25, 2015. Their papers will also be published in a compendium of the Hiebert Track (publisher TBD).
